Q: My boyfriend and I are planning an as-cheap-as-possible trip to Rome during January. We were thinking of staying in a hostel, but we have heard that during the off-season, bed-and-breakfasts are a reasonable option. Any suggestions?

A: It will cost you more to stay in a bed-and-breakfast than a hostel, even in the off-season, but the extra comfort may be worth the extra $25 or so a night.
